Tucked within an intricate web of branches hides a secretive forest creature made out of 100% hand-dyed, Merino wool. The creature’s imperfect coloration adds to the authenticity of the character’s natural tones to create the impression of form and texture. Deeply embedded within the animal’s head are it’s eyes which are made from polished stone, auburn in color, that vary in tone and luster from the left to right eye.
Branches encompass the creature and provide shelter that define the piece’s namesake. Made from a hard air-drying clay and reinforced with a wire armature to create a solid structure. Detailed golden leaves and smaller branches made from a rubber-like polymer clay intertwine and weave around the branches. The nest is coated with a wide variety of artistic mediums and acrylic paints to create a semi-reflective and glossy, textured surface that is not just stunning to look at but also very tempting to touch.
Each blade of grass surrounding the nestled creature is hand crafted and baked separately then attached individually to form a soft cushioning forest bed. With have a rubber-like quality, smooth surface and a striking black tone, you could immerse your mind within the mysterious nature of this pieces details for an eternity.
